TRAVELING DOG!

OK----SHOCKING STORY!

YESTERDAY MY MOM CALLED ME AT 2 SAYING SHE HAD HEARD ON THE Q105.3 PET PATROL THAT A WHITE DOG WITH BROWN SPOTS HAD BEEN FOUND ON 54TH AND REYNOLDS. SO I CALLED THE RADIO STATION AND THEY GAVE ME THE GUY'S PHONE #. WELL I CALLED HIM AND I ASKED IF IT WAS A JACK RUSSELL AND HE SAID HE DID NOT THINK SO BECAUSE HE HAD LONG HAIR AND WEIGHED ABOUT 20 LBS. I SAID THAT IS MY DOG!! IT HAS TO BE!! LET ME COME RIGHT OVER AND SEE IF IT IS HIM. WELL THE GUY SAID "WELL THAT IS THE PROBLEM B/C MY FRIEND TOOK HIM BACK TO NORTH CAROLINA WITH HIM TO FORT BRAGG ON SUNDAY." SO I WAS FLIPPING OUT. I CALLED HIS FRIEND AND SENT HIM AN EMAIL PIC OF DUKE AND HE SAID IT WAS MOST DEFINETLY HIM. SO THE GUY SAYS WE HAVE TO MEET HIM IN SANTEE, SC, WHICH IS HALFWAY, TO GET DUKE BACK. SO LAST NIGHT, ME, JAS, AND LILLY GAYLE DROVE THERE TO GET DUKE. WE PULL UP TO THE SANTEE CRACKER BARRELL AND THERE IS DUKE WEARING A NAME TAG ON HIS BRAND-NEW COLLAR THAT SAYS "BAXTER" ON IT AND THE GUY HANDS ME A LIST OF ALL THE VACCINATIONS HE GOT HIM AND 3 BAGS OF BRAND-NEW DOG TOYS!!!! IT WAS CRAZY!! SO DUKE IS BACK AND HE MAY THINK HIS NAME IS BAXTER NOW, WHO KNOWS BUT I JUST THOUGHT I HAD TO SHARE THIS FUNNY STORY WITH ALL OF YOU!

DUKE IS LOST!!!!!!!!

Well, we have had a sad weekend. Duke is lost. He escaped from the kennel and the yard Friday night during the Sand Gnats game (baseball) fireworks. We have no idea where he is and so far have exhausted all measures to find him. We have an ad in the pennysaver, savannah morning news, as well as have checked the humane society and Sanitation Department (picksup deceased animals). We just are hoping that he will come home.....COME HOME, DUKE!! WE MISS YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Jason's Basketball Team!

I am so proud of the impact jason has made already on the boys on his basketball team and at Windsor Forest. I am enclosing excerpts from an email sent by his Assistant Principal about Jason's team. It is so great that he is getting so much support from his school; the administrators really respect him.

" I need your help! Please take my request to heart…

I am working with Coach Helton and the Boys Basketball Team in an effort to raise money and support for this group of student athletes. I need your help in identifying area businesses or individuals who would be willing to offer needed support. I will be actively seeking donations to support the basketball program here at WFHS.
The students on our boys’ basketball team this year had an average GPA of 83.2! These student athletes perform in the classroom as well as on the court. For many, the involvement in, and discipline of, a structured athletic team helps them to maintain a strong academic focus. Coach Helton has done an excellent job of beginning a truly structured and motivated team.

All of our students and student athletes are important, but this group needs some extra attention – they need new uniforms and shoes, and the athletic budget simply cannot support this effectively.

I appreciate you letting me know of anyone who might consider this."

Ok another one of my favorite pics. This was taken by my friend Sarah who is a photographer. She is so awesome, she has her own business and has a website, www.sarahbuckphotography.com. She took this photo at Lilly Gayle's friend Greer Hollis' first Birthday Party!!

Blogging Begins!

Ok, I have been sucked in.....I have started a blog.....IN ALL MY SPARE TIME! I have received blog info from three friends now and have enjoyed looking at theirs so here I am. Jason does not know I am doing this yet, but hopefully he won't mind. Mostly I will update everyone on Lilly Gayle. The biggest news now is that she is rolling over, eating baby food, and sitting up on her own for a few seconds at a time.
